BigfootInEvolution

Where does Bigfoot fit in evolution? Some researchers believe Bigfoot is a descended of Gigantopithecus. Giganto was a giant ape that lived about 100,000 to 1 million years ago in Asia.  They are scientifically proven to really have existed by actual fossils found in China and Vietnam. Gigantopithecus was once thought to be a descendant of Australopithecus (Lucy), a direct ancestor of Man. A later theory is that Giganto is closer related to orangutans.
Gigantopithecus was 9 feet tall, weighing over 1000 pounds. Descriptions of  extremely large Sasquatch fit the dimensions of Gigantopithecus from the fossil record. So Bigfoot is not a direct ancestor of humans. They are not a missing link. Bigfoot is a distant cousin of man, a branch off in evolution. The theory is that Sasquatch migrated from Asia over the Bering Land Bridge to North America about 15,000 to 20,000 years ago. This was about the time the first people came to North America from Asia.

Another theory is that Bigfoot is a descendant of Paranthropus, Australopithecus Robustus, that lived between 1 million and 2 million years ago in Africa. Australopithecus is a very distant ancestor of humans.  A fossil named Lucy lived over 3 million years ago. she was about three and a half feet tall, covered with hair, with a small brain, but walked upright like us. Australopithecus eventually evolved into modern man. Over the millions of years, there were other off shoots of hominids, like Neanderthals.

And there is also a theory that Bigfoot is a surviving descendant of Heidelbergensis. This was a relative of man that lived about 700,000 years ago.  They descended from Homo erectus. Heidelbergensis was a relative of  Neanderthal man, which went extinct. There was a group of these humanoids in Africa that were 7 feet tall. Some descriptions of  Bigfoot match ancient Humans like Heidelbergensis. It could be that there are more than one species existing today that are being grouped together into one phenomenon called Bigfoot. There could be both a giant ape descendant of Gigantopithecus and a prehistoric human, still living in the wilderness in different parts of the world, including The United States and Canada.

Bigfoot is more like a human:
So how could Bigfoot be more like humans than other apes? A possible explanation could be that early human ancestors might have mated and breaded with another ape thousands of years ago. Most ape species cannot cross-breed with one another. Humans cannot mate with other apes. But bonobos and chimpanzees can cross-breed. They are close enough genetically and in evolution, separated by about 1 million years and they can still produce hybrid offspring.
There are other examples of hybrid animals in nature. Different types of bears can co mate and produce offspring. Wolves can cross breed with dogs and coyotes. But these animals are much closer genetically and in evolution. There have also been reports of bear and dog hybrids in Russia.
One DNA sample of a Sasquatch showed that they are closer related to humans than any other ape. In DNA, chimpanzees are man’s closest relative of the great apes. It is known to science that humans did cross bread with Neanderthals when they were still living half a million years ago. We still have a small percentage of Neanderthal DNA in people today.
There was a report of a female almas,  which is a Russian Bigfoot, being captured by people in Abkhazia, Georgia in 1850. The men took the creature and raped her. The female almas named Zana later gave birth to some human hybrid children.  This would indicate that humans may be compatible to mate with certain other types of hominoids.  We know people did mate with Neanderthals. Zana died in 1890. One of the children of the almas mother was named Khwit. He was human and grew up in the Caucasus, then he later died in 1954.
Khwit’s skull was later exhumed in the 1980s and examined by scientist. They found it was a human skull that exhibited some characteristics of a prehistoric human. In 2013 An investigator with a TV show, “ Bigfoot Files”, had a sample from the man’s skull tested for DNA. They were looking for evidence of Neanderthal DNA. People do have a small amount of DNA of Neanderthals in us. The result showed that the man did not have any abnormal amount of Neanderthal DNA  present. This would indicate that Bigfoot is not a direct descendant of Neanderthals. The story of Zana indicates that humans could possibly cross mate with another species of humanoid.
Another almas was shot and killed by the Russian army, also in the Caucuses in 1925. It was a large, hairy, prehistoric looking human. The almas could be a different species of Bigfoot, a descendant in evolution somewhere between Homo erectus and Heidelbergensis.

THE SASQUATCH HYBRID THEORY:

Gigantopithecus Blacki ( G. Blacki) was a real giant ape that existed 100,000 years ago in China. Their fossils were found in south China, Vietnam and Indonesia. Homo erectus, (a direct ancestor of man), was alive in China in the same time range. The fossil of  Peking Man, (Homo erectus),was discovered near Beijing, China.
If Gigantopithecus is related to Australopithecus as in the earlier theory, then it might be possible genetically that they could have cross bred with Homo erectus. Australopithecus Robustus, lived about 2 million years ago. Homo habilis branched evolved from Australopithecus around 2 million years ago. Homo erectus came along about 1.8 million years ago. Erectus fossils have been found in China and Asia, dating back about 1 million years. Gigantopithecus was also in the same areas of Asia in the same period. If Gigantopithecus branched off from Australopithecus and Homo habilis, around 2 million years ago, then Giganto and Homo erectus would be separated by less than 1 million years in evolution. This means they could have been genetically similar enough to cross-breed. They were both in the same part of the world around the same period in History. Chimpanzees and bonobos are separated in evolution by about 1 million years and they can mate and produce offspring. So Homo erectus and Gigantopithecus could have possibly mated 1 million years ago, in China and produced a Hybrid that became Bigfoot. Then their descendants could have migrated to the new world about fifteen thousand years ago, across the Bering Land Bridge and became the modern day Sasquatch of North America.
