Paranormal

             

         The term paranormal is often associated with ghosts and hauntings. But paranormal events also include UFOs and aliens, as well as cryptid creatures like Bigfoot. 

        Paranology is the study of the paranormal. There are multiple different paranologies including; ghostology, ufology, cryptozoology and parapsychology.

       A paranologist could be considered to be a person that researches different types of paranormal activity.  A paranormal generalist.
Specialists would be; ghostologists, ghost hunters, ufologists, cryptozoologists, Bigfooters and parapsychologists. 

      There is a distinction between paranormal and the supernatural. Paranormal is considered to be unexplainable events that have not been proven to exist by science. Unexplained phenomena is a term used to help define paranormal. Para means alongside our normal reality.

      The supernatural are events that may never be substantiated by human science. They cannot be explained by the laws of nature.

Ghosts and spirits are really types of supernatural entities, as well as paranormal. They do not have any physical presence, so it is much more difficult to prove their existence.
